Recommended Budget
These general recommendations provide an estimate of the cost of living you may want to budget for your three-week stay in Kelowna.
Estimated living costs (in CAD) for the Okanagan Global Summer Program (for one person):
The program includes a meal card that covers breakfast, lunch and some dinners. Dinner options will either be provided as part of the social program or open for you to explore Kelowna’s cuisine options. You will want to budget additional funds for groceries or restaurant meals, with a shared kitchen located in your residence accommodation for you to show off your culinary skills.
Cultural liaisons will assist with grocery shopping and meal planning for cooking in the residences.
Allow some money for personal expenses, such as laundry and toiletries.
You’re here to have a good time! Keep some money aside for fun things that aren’t in the program already, like shopping, concerts, and attractions.
Being away from home means making sure you have everything you need to stay in touch. Budget for cell phone plans and internet access off-campus.
While a Kelowna public transit pass is included in your program cost, you may want to budget additional transportation costs to cover personal trips and exploration. Kelowna has several taxi services as well as ride share apps, including URide and Uber.
